Seae Ventures acquired fellow venture capital firm Unseen Capital, known for investing in companies supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs and marginalized communities. Seae’s portfolio includes startups like Cabaya Care, Clinify, and Tia, while Unseen has invested in Ayana Therapy, CareAcademy, and Violet. The acquisition will increase Seae’s assets to over $200 million and enable a focus on early seed investments for underrepresented founders. Unseen’s late founder, Kayode Owens, will be honored with a fellowship and scholarship fund for HBCU students. Dr. Ivor Horn of Google, part of Unseen’s team, stresses the importance of representation in the healthcare ecosystem, especially in AI.
