Long-term exercise program improves physical function in axial SpA beyond ‘usual care’

admin

A supervised, long-term exercise program for patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and severe functional limitations showed improvements in functional disability and physical quality of life compared to usual care. The program included personalized exercises tailored to each patient’s needs and resulted in greater improvements in physical abilities over 52 weeks. The study highlights the benefits of tailored exercise interventions for individuals with complex health conditions like axSpA. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and applicability of this approach in managing other rheumatic diseases.
