O’Carroll highlighted that the State failed to publicly announce the withdrawal of thalidomide in Ireland in the 1960s, leading to continued use of the drug. He also mentioned that a promised medical package for survivors, introduced recently, had been delayed for almost 50 years. O’Carroll called for a proper apology and criticized the State for not involving the High Court in the agreement process.
