AI learning may reveal treatment outcome patterns in multiple myeloma

Sandra Mazzoni, DO, discussed a study presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting that used artificial intelligence to analyze patterns in how patients with multiple myeloma respond to therapy. The study utilized a database of hundreds of patients with myeloma to identify genetic patterns that correlate with different outcomes in overall survival. Mazzoni, a hematologist at the Cleveland Clinic, explained that this study demonstrates the potential of artificial intelligence in personalized medicine. This research was presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago.
