Oxford University researchers, with support from Serac Healthcare, are developing a non-invasive diagnostic test for endometriosis. This scan-based test aims to provide faster answers for women suffering from this painful condition. Currently, the only way to diagnose endometriosis is through laparoscopy, a surgical procedure. The new test uses a molecular label called Maraciclatide to detect endometriosis lesions without surgery. Early results have shown promise in detecting early stages of the disease. The researchers at the Oxford Endometriosis CaRe Centre are conducting the DETECT study to further evaluate the effectiveness of this non-invasive diagnostic test.
