A new treatment from Amgen for small cell lung cancer has been approved by the FDA, extending life expectancy to 14 months. Novo Nordisk is optimistic about a fire at a manufacturing site not delaying production of weight loss and diabetes drugs. The fire broke out in Denmark but was extinguished. The drug has some side effects, including cytokine release syndrome. Both companies are continuing to work towards providing innovative treatments despite challenges.
