A study analyzing TikTok videos on neuraxial labor analgesia found low overall quality, with 10% of videos containing inaccurate information. Medical sources had higher quality scores but still fell below professional standards. The study evaluated 266 English-language videos from June 17 to 20, 2024, using keywords like “epidural” and “epidural risks.” Inaccurate information was present in 10% of videos, with medical sources accounting for 38% of the inaccuracies. Videos from medical sources had higher scores for clarity, source citation, and balanced information presentation. The study highlights a need for authoritative content on TikTok to improve patient understanding and decision-making.
