A recent survey conducted in Ireland found that self-reported long Covid symptoms are more common among women and those in their forties. The most common symptoms reported by those still experiencing long Covid include fatigue, cognitive issues, joint or muscle pain, sleep disturbances, and breathlessness. The study involved 4,671 participants, with 16% reporting ever experiencing long Covid symptoms. The HSE launched an Interim Model of Care for long Covid in September 2021 to provide follow-up care and support for patients. The HSE plans to review and update this model of care with input from healthcare professionals and patient advocates.
