The research found that only a small percentage of children regularly consume animal-sourced foods such as milk, eggs, or meat, with affordability and lack of awareness being the main barriers. The low consumption of meat and other animal products is linked to stunted growth in children, impacting cognitive capacity, productivity, and economic prospects. Interventions are needed to educate caregivers on the benefits of including animal-sourced foods in children’s diets to improve dietary diversity and overall health.
