Global study highlights Singapore’s top ranking in aging society preparedness

Singapore has been ranked top among Asian nations and in the top 10 globally for readiness to address challenges of an aging population. The study by researchers from NUS and Columbia University developed a new measure, the Global Aging Index, to assess 143 countries’ preparedness for population aging. Singapore excelled in well-being, security, and productivity. The findings highlight the need for low- and middle-income countries to prepare for aging populations. Initiatives like Health District @ Queenstown showcase Singapore’s proactive approach to adapting to an aging society. The study aims to guide countries in prioritizing action for all levels of development to ensure healthy, purposeful longevity.
