Alcon Laboratories has issued a voluntary recall of its Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF after discovering fungal contamination in one lot. The contamination was discovered following a consumer complaint, and while no adverse events have been reported, Alcon has initiated the recall out of caution. Consumers are advised to stop using the product and contact their eye care provider if they experience adverse symptoms. Distributors and retailers are instructed to dispose of any remaining stock. Alcon stated that their priority is ensuring the safety of their products and complying with regulatory bodies.
