Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. John Lantis oversaw a busy vascular surgery department in New York City, seeing 350 patients weekly with vascular issues and performing numerous procedures. When the pandemic hit, elective surgeries were halted, outpatient visits dropped significantly, and Dr. Lantis had to switch to telemedicine to continue caring for patients. As New York City emerged from the surge, Dr. Lantis is now preparing for potential future surges by emphasizing the importance of telemedicine and maintaining a strong team.
