Vaping is often seen as a safer alternative to smoking, but a recent study found that it still affects circulation and overall health. The study, to be presented at the RSNA meeting, showed that vaping can impact brain circulation and decrease blood flow in the superficial femoral artery. This was observed in both e-cigarettes with and without nicotine. The study also found lower venous oxygen saturation in vapers, indicating a reduction in oxygen uptake by the lungs. Researchers suggest that chronic use of e-cigarettes could lead to vascular disease. Overall, the study highlights the immediate effects of vaping on the body’s vascular function.
