The UK government plans to ban smoking outside schools and hospitals as part of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, aiming to create a smokefree generation by 2009. However, there is still a need for more investment in NHS stop smoking services. The bill will also make it illegal to sell tobacco to those born after 2009 and restrict outdoor smoking in specific areas. Additionally, the bill will ban advertising and sponsorship of vapes, restrict their flavors and packaging, and ban disposable vapes by 2025. The government has dropped plans to ban smoking outside pubs and restaurants due to industry opposition.
