The AI tool developed by researchers can identify subtle symptoms associated with long COVID in electronic health records, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis. Symptoms such as fatigue, chronic cough, heart problems, and “brain fog” can persist for weeks or months after an initial COVID-19 infection. The researchers plan to make the AI tool publicly available for use by healthcare professionals to better understand and manage the condition.
