A recent study published in the Lancet journal found that the vaccine against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is highly effective in preventing hospitalization in older adults and immunocompromised individuals. The study analyzed data from over 36,000 patients and found that the vaccine reduced the risk of hospitalization by 80% in those who were vaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults aged 75 and older receive the RSV vaccine, while those aged 60 to 74 with high-risk conditions should consider it. Currently, 36.9% of adults aged 75 and older have received the vaccine.
