A study on menopausal public sector workers found that only one-in-12 had spoken to their manager about their condition, leading to fewer promotions. The survey involved nearly 1,000 people from five Irish public sector organizations, with 68% saying menopause was not discussed at work and 8% calling it a taboo subject. Three-quarters were unsure if their employer had a menopause policy, and 70% believed organizations should make adjustments for menopausal employees. This lack of support and awareness may be contributing to the reluctance of menopausal workers to apply for promotions.
