INMO begins balloting members on industrial action

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) is balloting its members for industrial action due to unsafe staffing levels caused by recruitment issues at the HSE. Many nursing positions in critical areas are left vacant, leading to staff being asked to work extra hours, causing frustration and risking patient safety. The recruitment process for essential positions is taking too long, with a significant number of temporary vacancies remaining unfilled. The ongoing dispute between unions and the HSE and Department of Health has led to protests, with concerns raised about the strain on patient services. Despite the HSE’s claims of increased staff levels, the issue of understaffing persists.
