Health groups give mixed response to record health budget

Health bodies have criticized the Budget 2025 allocations, calling them meagre and a missed opportunity. The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland expressed disappointment with the lack of funding for mental health services. The Disability Federation of Ireland also criticized the lack of funding for disability services, stating that it fails to meet commitments outlined in the Programme for Government. However, some health charities welcomed new initiatives and additional funding promises, such as the Irish Heart Foundation’s community support projects. Overall, there are concerns that the budget allocations do not adequately address the growing demand for mental health and disability services in Ireland.
