Computational tools for unlocking the secrets of the genome

A collection of 20 computational methods and their applications in genomics, including spatial, single-cell, and long-read sequencing, is published by Genome Research in collaboration with the International Conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology (RECOMB). These methods cover various areas such as genomic variation analysis, cancer genomics, gene regulatory networks, and metagenomic data analysis. Specific studies highlighted include PRiMeR for predicting disease risk, SF-Relate for identifying genetic relatives while maintaining privacy, CoRAL and Decoil for analyzing circular extrachromosomal DNA in cancer, DIISCO for characterizing cell interactions, and SpaCeNet for spatial transcriptomics analysis. Other methods address challenges in genome assembly and repetitive DNA detection in metagenomic data.
