Women in the UK and globally are not receiving adequate treatment for cardiovascular disease, their number one killer, despite advancements in medical management. They are underdiagnosed, undertreated, and underrepresented in clinical trials. The consensus statement calls for dedicated women’s heart champions, heart hubs, and a women’s health strategy to prevent unnecessary deaths from preventable diseases. There is a need for increased awareness of risk factors, inclusion in research, and equitable access to care. Patients and advocates also play a role in advancing women’s cardiovascular health. Implementing these recommendations will reduce sex disparities and improve outcomes for female patients worldwide.
