A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that the weight loss injection Saxenda (liraglutide) effectively reduced BMI in children aged 6-11. The trial, funded by Novo Nordisk, found that 46% of children in the liraglutide group experienced at least a 5% reduction in BMI compared to only 9% in the placebo group. In another report, analysts suggest that a “whole of government” approach to tackling long term illness and economic inactivity in the UK could potentially bring 600,000 people back to the workforce, leading to a significant economic boost.
