Treatment with an anti-fibrotic drug called Pirfenidone improved ovarian function in mice, leading to increased follicle numbers and improved hormone levels. The goal is to find a safe and effective drug to enhance ovarian health in humans, addressing various health issues that arise from declining ovarian function, such as infertility, bone density loss, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive decline.
