Create Health Ventures, a new venture firm focused on digital health startups, has launched with a $21 million fund. The firm, based in Austin and Chicago, invests in early stage startups that create technology for payers and pharmaceutical companies. With two managing partners, Amit Aysola and Emma Cartmell, who have extensive experience in the healthcare space, Create is looking to back founders who come from the healthcare world. The firm has made five investments so far in companies that focus on improving access to care and patient experience. In the future, Create plans to make more investments in the pharma space to address challenges in clinical trials and data connectivity.
