The EU AI Act comes into effect

admin

The EU AI Act, which comes into effect today, sets regulations for the use of artificial intelligence in the European Union to promote human-centric and trustworthy AI while ensuring protection of health, safety, and fundamental rights. High-risk AI use cases include medical devices, biometric identification, access to services, automated processing of personal data, and emotional recognition. The Act also emphasizes the importance of transparency, eliminating bias in AI applications, and protecting EU citizens from potential risks. The regulation aims to support innovation while respecting freedom of science and not hindering research and development activities. The HIMSS Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum is scheduled for October 31-November 1 in Washington, D.C.
