Most Physicians Are Excited About Clinical Documentation AI, Report Shows

Physician burnout hit a record high of 62.8% in 2021 but has since fallen below 50% due to factors such as the end of the pandemic, increased support staff ratios, and the introduction of clinician wellness programs. New technology, including AI tools, has also helped reduce documentation burdens, with more than 40% of physicians spending four or more hours daily on documentation. AI tools like Suki, DeepScribe, and Microsoft’s Nuance have been developed to simplify documentation tasks and allow physicians to spend more time with patients. While AI presents opportunities, human intervention is still essential in its use.
