Mental health toolkit for young people launched

admin

The Mental Health Commission and Children’s Ombudsman are advocating for the prioritization of the Mental Health Act in Ireland. A new toolkit has been launched to provide practical advice to young people accessing child and adolescent mental health services, focusing on their rights, legal protections, and self-advocacy. The Ombudsman for Children expressed concerns about young people not having their views listened to in decisions affecting them. Both the Ombudsman and MHC CEO called for the Government to pass the Mental Health Act. The toolkit, called ‘Headspace,’ aims to empower young people and improve their experience in mental health services. It is available online at www.mhcirl.ie/headspace.
