Extra £82m allows practices in England to hire 1000 more new GPs this year

admin

The government in England has announced plans to hire 1000 more doctors in general practices this year through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). Previously, practices were only allowed to hire non-medical support staff, but the government has expanded the scheme to cover doctors by adding £82m to the fund. This will help newly qualified GPs find jobs in the NHS. The Department of Health and Social Care hopes that this move will improve access to primary care services for patients as well as support the recruitment and retention of GPs in the healthcare system.
