Cut Down On Processed Meat, Swap It With Nuts To Reduce Dementia Risk: Study

Recent research has found a concerning link between consuming processed red meat and an increased risk of dementia. The study revealed that eating two servings of processed red meat per week is associated with a 14% increase in dementia risk compared to those who eat less than three servings per month. On the contrary, replacing processed red meat with nuts, beans, or tofu could reduce the risk of dementia by 20%. This study, which tracked over 130,000 participants over 43 years, found that dietary guidelines limiting processed red meat consumption could promote brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
