FarmboxRx, a Boston-based company, delivers produce boxes, cooking kits, educational materials, and pantry items to patients’ doors. This partnership aims to address food insecurity in Tennessee, where one in seven people battle hunger. The deliveries, meant to improve health outcomes, include fresh produce, educational materials, and covered health benefits information. FarmboxRx also recently launched a maternal health program. This partnership reflects a growing trend of using food as medicine in the healthcare industry to tackle social determinants of health.
