The Irish Thalidomide Association criticized the Government’s response last week, stating it was not a genuine apology. They called for proper recognition and support for the remaining thalidomide survivors in Ireland, some of whom are still excluded from State supports. The group demanded an apology from the State for failing to fully recall thalidomide and regulate its use in the 1960s, as well as for not providing promised medical packages and healthcare for survivors. The association emphasized the need for the government to take responsibility for its past actions and provide justice for thalidomide survivors in Ireland.
