admin

The Practitioner Health Matters Programme (PHMP) has seen a significant increase in senior clinicians presenting with burnout, stress, and anxiety, with 107 new presentations in 2023, a 48% increase from 2018. The majority of those presenting were doctors aged 26-49, with issues including anxiety, depression, burnout, and substance use. The programme continues to expand its therapist network to meet growing demand. The PHMP aims to provide confidential support to doctors, pharmacists, and dentists experiencing mental health or substance use issues, emphasizing the importance of addressing practitioner well-being to ensure quality patient care.
