Scientists studied the effectiveness of a very low-calorie diet and Semaglutide, alone and in combination, in reducing body weight and controlling blood glucose in type 2 diabetes patients. The study involved 30 participants who followed either the diet, Semaglutide injections, or both for 12 weeks. The results showed that the diet and combined intervention groups had a greater reduction in body weight and fat mass compared to the Semaglutide group. The combined group also showed improved glycemic control. Future research is recommended to explore the long-term effects of the Semaglutide—VLCD combination on managing type 2 diabetes and obesity.
