Robert Gabbay to Exit the American Diabetes Association

Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD, the chief scientific and medical officer of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), is stepping down after 4 years. Gabbay announced in a video on LinkedIn that he will be working part-time and traveling with his wife while still contributing to the world of diabetes. He will continue his academic role at Harvard Medical School and providing patient care at the Joslin Diabetes Center. ADA CEO Chuck Henderson expressed gratitude for Gabbay’s dedication and impact during his tenure. The ADA plans to launch a search for a new chief scientific and medical officer.
