Providence is conducting a study to understand how health systems can use multi-cancer detection tests, focusing on patients with a genetic predisposition to cancer. The study aims to learn how access to these tests impacts patients’ decision making and care. Providence was the first health system to use Grail’s Galleri test, which screens for over 50 types of cancer through blood samples with 88% accuracy. The study will follow patients with a high genetic risk of cancer for three years to analyze the impact of multi-cancer tests on their care and outcomes. The goal is to provide better care for vulnerable patients at risk of cancer.
