Sitting For Long? Drinking Coffee May Help Offset Mortality Risk

admin

A recent study suggests that drinking coffee may counteract the mortality risk associated with prolonged sitting. The study analyzed over 10,000 individuals in the United States and found that those who sat for more than eight hours a day faced a higher risk of death, particularly from cardiovascular disease. However, coffee drinkers had a lower risk of overall mortality and cardiovascular disease compared to non-coffee drinkers, even if they sat for long periods. The study did not investigate how coffee provides this protective effect, but the researchers concluded that coffee consumption may reduce the risk of mortality from both all causes and cardiovascular disease.
