The focus on economic growth over climate targets is hindering progress in addressing climate change. The flawed measure of progress, GDP, fails to account for essential aspects of quality of life. The pursuit of profit and growth over the needs of the majority and the environment is detrimental. It is time to prioritize equity, well-being, and sustainability over economic interests. The current path is unsustainable and requires a shift towards a more holistic approach to progress.
