The workflow increased patient referrals to multidisciplinary clinics and participation in biospecimen studies at the institution. Researchers at Northwell Health Cancer Institute developed a natural language processing classifier to flag suspicious radiology reports for pancreatic cancer, resulting in faster patient identification and treatment. Future steps include expanding the study with a larger sample size and additional resources to further improve patient care outcomes.
