1 in 4 parents say their child can’t go to sleep because they’re worried or anxious

Most parents have a bedtime routine for their children, but many still face bedtime battles due to their children’s after dark worries. The University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health found that one in four parents struggle with getting their young child to bed, often relying on strategies that may worsen sleep challenges in the long run. Nighttime worries, sleep disruptions, and the use of melatonin are common issues faced by parents. Establishing a consistent bedtime routine, promoting a sleep-conducive environment, and seeking medical advice before using sleep aids like melatonin are recommended to address these challenges.
