The bipartisan BIOSECURE Act, which aims to create this blacklist, has been passed by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. The goal is for the House to pass the bill before the July 4 recess and potentially include it in the National Defense Authorization Act. The Senate committee has also passed the Act unanimously. WuXi Biologics executives are now lobbying to prevent their company from being added to the blacklist.
