Study Identifies Exercise That Could Reduce Knee Pain, Risk Of Osteoarthritis

Researchers have found that regular bicycling can reduce the likelihood of arthritis and ease the symptoms of knee pain in those at increased risk. A study of 2,600 individuals with an average age of 64 revealed that those who biked at some point in their lives were 21% less likely to develop arthritis with joint pain. The study showed that the more periods of time a person spent bicycling, the less likely they were to experience knee pain and signs of osteoarthritis. Bicycling is considered favorable for knee health due to its low impact nature and ability to circulate synovial fluid in the joint.
