Northern Ireland: GPs agree contract changes

GPs in Northern Ireland have agreed changes to the general medical services (GMS) contract, the BMA has said.

The BMA’s Northern Ireland GP committee (NIGPC) has agreed changes for 2024-25, with the Department of Health agreeing to further work to overhaul the contract from 2025 onwards.1

The association said that NIGPC had also secured £5 million in funding for this year to cover GP indemnity costs.
