A study involving 510 women in seven states found that dispensing abortion pills through mail-order pharmacies was as effective as obtaining them in person at a clinic or physician’s office. The women received mifepristone and misoprostol and reported high levels of satisfaction with the medication abortion process, with 98% having complete abortions with no adverse events. Most women received the medication within one to three days, and nearly all were satisfied with mail-order dispensing and the maintenance of their confidentiality during shipping and delivery. The study, published in JAMA Internal Medicine, highlighted the positive outcomes of using mail-order pharmacies for abortion pills.
