SEATTLE — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ARVO meeting, Jaclyn L. Kovach, MD, discusses the beneficial effects on macular function of continuous pegcetacoplan treatment in geographic atrophy.
“Looking at the combined results of OAKS and DERBY, we see that pegcetacoplan treatment has led to meaningful reductions in GA growth in both nonsubfoveal and subfoveal GA with increasing efficacy over time and a more rapid and pronounced effect on nonsubfoveal lesions,” Kovach said. “But in addition to these anatomical benefits, in post hoc analyses we see that pegcetacoplan is now shown to have a positive effect on visual function in best corrected visual acuity and microperimetry.”
