SEATTLE — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ARVO meeting, Marjorie Rah, OD, PhD, FAAO, discusses a poster that investigated Biotrue Hydration Plus Multipurpose solution from Bausch + Lomb.
A real-world in-home use test included 202 soft contact lens wearers who reported they were on the verge of dropping out of contact lenses due to dryness or discomfort, Rah said. The participants used the solution for at least 7 days and then completed an online survey.
“The results were fantastic. More than 90% agreed that the solution helped keep their lenses feeling comfortable and hydrated throughout the day,” Rah said. “Ninety percent of patients considering discontinuation agreed that the solution positively impacted the comfort … and 88% said they would consider continuing to wear contact lenses after trying the solution.”
