A study found that for patients with early-stage cervical cancer without high-risk factors, postoperative radiotherapy (RT) alone produces similar outcomes to concurrent chemoradiotherapy, regardless of histological subtype. Chemoradiotherapy led to more grade 3 or higher hematological toxicities. Among intermediate-risk patients, 5-year overall survival and disease-free survival rates were similar with RT alone and chemoradiotherapy. For low-risk patients, 5-year overall survival was higher with RT, while disease-free survival was similar between the two groups. Chemoradiotherapy patients experienced more acute hematological toxicities. The study was retrospective and some patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, potentially affecting treatment outcomes.
