Celebrity Paris Hilton is supporting California lawmakers in pushing for more transparency in teen therapeutic centers by requiring reporting on the use of restraints and seclusion rooms. Hilton, who has been an advocate against the troubled teen industry, testified in front of the Senate Human Services Committee. The proposed Accountability in Children’s Treatment Act aims to protect young people in these facilities from abuse. The bill has bipartisan support and aims to create a public dashboard on the use of restraints and seclusion rooms. After passing the Senate Human Services Committee, the bill will move to the Appropriations Committee for further consideration.
