Dr. Eric D. Donnenfeld presented on Lacrifill for the treatment of dry eye disease at the ASCRS meeting. Lacrifill, made by Nordic Pharma Eye Care, is easy to insert, has good reimbursement, and is comfortable for patients. It occludes the punctum better than typical punctal occluders, resulting in better outcomes. A study presented at the meeting showed a full millimeter higher Schirmer test result when Lacrifill was used. Donnenfeld disclosed consulting for Nordic Pharma Eye Care.
