The American Urological Association, in collaboration with other organizations, released a clinical practice guideline on salvage therapy for men with prostate cancer. The guideline includes 30 recommendations for treating men with localized disease who experienced PSA recurrence after definitive local therapy. The guidelines cover various topics such as treatment decision-making, assessment, and management of recurrence after different types of primary therapies. The goal is to promote the use of salvage therapy, which has been underutilized in this patient population. The guideline aims to improve survival and reduce rates of metastasis in patients at the highest risk.
