A study has found that adding metronidazole to cefazolin reduces the risk of surgical site infections in gynecologic surgery. By combining these two antibiotics, the study showed a decrease in postoperative infections. This finding may lead to improved surgical outcomes and reduced complications for patients undergoing gynecologic procedures.
